Best deal for Sky?

My parents are paying over £40 per month for the family + sports. No sky + and no HD. What can I do about this? They both love watching TV and know their paying too much as they have another provider for the internet.
 
They won't have family if they don't have a Sky+HD box, likely they're on original. I reckon if they phoned to cancel they could get a discount and a +HD box to boot.
 
That's the thing i can never convince them to do that. My brothers girlfriend has sky+ and I dont think it even costs her extra. I think my parents boxes are one of them old amstrad ones.
 
Me too? I rang customer support and they would send a HD sky+ box but wanted an extra £6 a month!
He did say if I spoke to cancellations that they may offer a better deal.I said it was crazy offering free tv's and half the price my parents are paying with all added extras. But he conceded that the new customers get better deals.

Ahhh. I think I just need to cancel then see what happens.
 
If you read the small print, Rupert Murdock also owns your soul once you take out a contract with sky.

Make sure you factor that into the costs.
 
Well we got a bit of a result. £7 off the bill with skyhd+ upgrade. I think they could have done better like throwing in free movies as a letter came through today offering sky movies for £4.50!

Ohwell a result non the less.
