I'm looking to get a pair of drives for my soon to be delivered XTreamer eTRAYz... Probably 1.5TB?

Any suggestions?

I had intended to get a pair of WD Cavier Greens... But they heard WD don't suggest their use in NAS'?

I've read a couple of comments in places about Samsungs Ecos also not be as quiet as they could be?

Any suggestions?

For a NAS, especially if you are using RAID, you should really go for RE drives if you are buying Western Digital. WD do do green edition RE drives but there current offering limits you to the 2TB RE4-GP disks which are larger than you are looking for and I suspect a little more expensive than you were budgeting for.

I don't have any RE4-GP disks, but the RE2-GP 1TB disks I *do* have are pretty quiet.

You could try the Seagate LP disks. I have the 2TB Seagate LP disks in an NAS RAID and these are reasonably quiet, although the heads are noticeably louder than my RE2-GP disks when writing. If you are going for the Seagate LP 1.5 disks check that they have the latest firmware (and update if necessary), as some of the earlier Seagate 1.5TB disks did have trouble in NAS's
