Best fan for i7 that isn't too tall.

Hi all - just built a new i7 920 rig and installed a Prolimatech Megahalem.

Sadly I didn't check it with my case and it doesn't fit. My case is a very old but lovely ATC 201 and the top of the cooler is probably about 2 cm too tall.

Was wondering if anyone had run into this before and could recommend a cooler that would fit a slightly skinnier case and still performs really well for a bit of ocing. Perhaps a top down one rather that the side on variety of the megahelm?

if you want similar performance, the Corsair H50 watercooler is just as good, and it doesnt require any maintenance like other watercooling.

While I was going to suggest this, it doesn't look like a 120mm fan at the back of that case.

ahh yeah, the space at the back is only for an 80mm fan.

Hi I have an ATC 201 case too and am looking for a cooler to fit in it for a new Q9550, I currently have an AC7Pro which is 126.5mm tall.

I have measured inside the case and there is pretty much exactly 30mm more space, which means that a cooler 156mm or less should fit?

Apparently a Titan Fenrir will therefore fit, and a Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme (150mm) should definately fit. I was considering the H50 but wouldnt be able to mount the radiator in the top front bays as I have a long DVD drive.

Would it matter if the Fenrir was *just* touching the inside of the case wall (which is painted aluminium)?

You can fit a Corsair H50 in the case.
