Hi everyone.

I have a request.
We are currently looking to build an overall top 10 or top 20 gaming musical scores and soundtracks over the years and have come up with a few but are hoping they public may be kind enough to weigh in as we are sure there are many candidates to consider for the top spots.
No self-promotion - Davey

If so leave a comment here on in the article itself or hear and I will check back
At the same time enjoy the the post.

Thanks in advance.

Complete soundtrack I'd have to say anything by Jeremy soule, oblivion, skyrim, guild wars all fantastic scores.

Also the Mass Effect trilogy has some incredible music that truly captures the moment.

There are a lot of games that had great soundtracks - narrowing down even a top 20 is gonna be tough.

The ones that stood out for me - not necessarily the best music:

Commandos series - Not the best music ever maybe but highly memorable and perfectly fitting to the game.

Starcraft - Well produced tracks that had a great feel of the theme of the game and the different sides.

Need For Speed 3 Hot Pursuit - A benchmark for racing game music.

Quake 2 - Nothing innovative but perfectly in tune with and enhanced the atmosphere of the game.

Unreal Tournament (1999) - Memorable with every track sculpted for a specific theme.

Skyrim - some of the ambient/atmosphere music is incredible.

Millennium Soldier: Expendable - Bit cheesey but catchy tracks that fit well with the action.

All the Deus Ex games have some great music as well.

Final Fantasy 7 is my favourite.

Super Mario, Tetris and Sonic are wonderfully memorable.

And I also loved music in Turrican. The complexity of what they created with a limited hardware is epic.
