Hey guys,

I'm sure this has probably been covered before but not recently i don't think?

Basically, for use with an ipod video 5g, need to be have good bass response, good mids and nice highs, basically all rounders.....I'm used to beyer dynamic DT770s which are generally good at everything :p

Been looking at shure e2c and etymotics 6is, but the sony ones seem to be thrown into the mix now? I used to have some of the lower end sony in ear ones (mr71?) that were ok ish, but a bit bloated if that makes sense....good bass but at the expense of clarity.

What's your favourites, and if not competitors, where to buy from? Need to let my dad know, it's gonna be his xmas present to me :)

Cheers,

Tom.

I Have/had the ety 6i (white ones) I love them but after a year the wires in the 1/8" plug came loose and I haven't fixed it since, so £60 headphones is just sitting there, I could get sound out of it if I bend the cable a certain way but thats it.

I've also tried the Sony in ear phones, the 81 and 82, but the wires of those are really fragile, it literally splits after a few months, so never again. I've been using the ipod stock phones lately, they sound ok but i miss the seal. Thinking getting some Senns or Shure....or even the Ipod seal phones.

Well your not going to get any bass from ety's or E2C's and the E2C's are just plain awful, they lasted me a day before I replaced them.

You could probably pick up super.fi EB's from the bay for around £60, if you enjoy DT770's you will love these. They have a dynamic driver for the bottom end a precise armature driver to give you the detail on the rest of the range.
