Hi

My PS3000 50" seems to have bitten the dust. Luckily I have a John Lewis 5 year warranty.

In the case of being unable to repair I get a replacement TV. The PS3000 has excellent pictur quality once calibrated. Is that still the case now with LG TVs- what are the good LG plasmas?

I have the PK590 which I find to be really good, lots of reports that once calibrated properly its even better. Its not an expensive set but offers a lot for the money

The only way you can calibrate the set is to use something like a colour spider and some software, those settings on my tv looked less than ideal.

How do you find the reflection on the pk590. I keep looking at this set as really good value but the reports of bad reflections always puts me off. Seems you need to spend 1800 on the gt30 to rid yourself of them...

Interested to hear your thoughts.

I have the 50PK350

very basic screen with only one HDMI at the back plus on on the side.

I have an AV amp with 6 HDMI inputs, so i at the back is all i need!

Its a great TV without all the bells and whilstles that your never going to use... the PK590 (as mentioned above) is similar with the addition of extra HDMI ports - THX mode (actually very good so i hear) and a few other options.

There is a very thorough review of the PK350 and some other LG plasmas over at AVforums... go check it out.

same problem with the PK350.... Its not an issue for me really, as i just pull the curtains, and have/will design the lights in the living room around the tv.

it depends on your room layout... if your tv is in the corner of the room with lamps everwhere, its going to be a nightmare!

If you can work it out tho, i'll be good!!

I have the PK350 too, again, had no need for an extra HDMI nor the THX or FreeviewHD but did need the Scart, for the price it is an excellant box and once setup to your taste, gives a great picture, can sometimes retain bright image boxes a little but has built in features to remove such and is not so easily seen from a distance, I would def recommend it.

As for reflections, my previous TV was a 50" 3LCD rear projection Sony, both reflected but on the LG as the screen is so shiny, it is a bit more noticable but I can live with it, just strategically placed my lamp elsewere in the room... :).

Best feature is the USB, I plug in my USB mem stick and play .avi straight from it :)
