No amount of martial arts training will really prepare you for a proper street fight...
There is no best martial art to do.
Yeah I mean Mike Tyson is good in the ring but if he got jumped on 'teh streets' he'd suddenly find that chavs have some special fighting skills that no martial art can teach.....![]()
Way to completely miss the point. Unless you're suggesting the OP become a world champion in the martial art he chooses or something.
Quite frankly something like boxing is excellent preparation for a 'street fight'. Someone starts taking swings at you they'll very likely lose, someone pulls a knife on you you're fit enough to run away very fast and aren't under some false impression that your nin-tai-kung-fu--chi-chung-jutsu-jap-slapping in pajamas has taught you to defend against knives.
How can you say a statement is nonsense by using an extreme?
You obviously don't have a broad understanding of martial arts. Any reputable MA will not make false claims of being impervious to all attacks and pretty much any martial art will make you fit enough to run when presented with danger.
Perhpas you don't tbh...
There are plenty of martial arts out there that do attempt to teach knife defence - a previous karate instructor did so and so did the ju jitsu classes I attended.
That is down to irresponsible teachers, not the art.
learn to be calm and walk away. not good enough? learn to run.
