Rather than trial and error, what motherboard have you guys found works best with a AMD Operton 165.
I was thinking of getting
DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-014-DF)

but are there better alternatives,
max budget is £150

Thanks in advance

any of the dfi range should be able to get the best out of the chip, you got decent memory to go with it tho ?

I am on my first DFI, they are very good boards, although do some decent research on them as there is loads more settings to fiddle with than other boards i have had :)

I have an Asus A8n32-sli and it suits my opty 165 (p95 stable @ 2.6). Very good, stable (8 phase) motherboard and offers plenty of options for overclocking, more than the usual ASUS boards.

DFI are also getting good results although they can be a lot more difficult to get stable for the novice clocker.

Add the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium to your short-list as well :)
