I can get a new Samsung Pebble 2232bw for £225. Is this monitor any good?

Is it worth going for this or a 22" monitor costing £150-180 instead - will I really see an improvement in quality?

I am looking for a monitor to use as for TV and films mainly to plug into my laptop. Ive seen an 24" Acer AL2416WB for £250 - any good?

Quality is remebered long after the price is forgotten.

I tried to complement my 2407 with a el cheapo £140 22" screen. It was a disaster, backlight bleed, extreme brightness and overall colour mayhem.

I returned it and dropped £450 on another 2407 - v.happy.

Before I bought my 2232BW, I cheaped out a little bit and bought a Viewsonic 19" without DVI. Gave myself a bit of a talking to about that, and now I refuse to buy cheap on something that I use and look at so often.

The picture on the 2232BW is great, by the way, sharp and bright. I believe that 24" ACER doesn't have a DVI input, so it wouldn't interest me.

Samsung 223BW, 22" monitor and it is absolutely stunning, i just made the plunge from a 19" CRT to this and wow.

Very glad i got this, goes extremly well with my system, can now put my 8800 to full use ;)

Im worried that the Sammy is TN film - I want to use monitor as tv for main room as well as monitor - is it best to save for a Dell 2407? But is 2x the cash worth it??

still love my 17" CTX CRT.... 1600x1200@85Hz *** for gaming.... no need for AA... and if the performance sucks a little, just drop it down a little to 1280x1024 without any probs....
