Hi

My brother is wanting to get a new monitor for his system. The system is mostly used to be honest for web browsing and the usual, but his girlfriend is really into digital photography and is wanting to get into photoshop. He is also an artist and uses the system for scanning in his pictures etc.

I am just wondering if you guys think he would be better off getting a crt as the colour definition would be better or just going for a tft. Space is not a massive problem but i think if he goes for a 19+inch crt it would become a problem

Any help would be well appreciated :)

CRT's are still king when it comes to high end Photoshop work etc. Unless you look at the Eizo's. Very expensive, but their colour reproduction is spot on. You won't find many pro graphic designers, photographers etc. happy with a cheap 19" TFT. Even for someone getting into it, I'd stay away from the cheaper models, but a mid-range £300-400 model would suffice I'd say. Lots to choose from, just read reviews and get opinions from others.

:)
