Best motherboard for my build?

I have all the parts listed ready to order exept for the motherboard, which board would be the best taking into account the parts I have chosen, and that I will be overclocking and may go 3 way SLI in the future?

Price range for the board is £150-250, and colour matching if possible. Though this is not essential.

I dont think there is a board under £300 that supports 3-way SLI.

They are all 2 way SLI from having a quick look around.

Alright, well I'll just go for a 2 way one for now and upgrade the motherboard if I decide to go 3 way SLI.

Is the UD4 the best board in this price range, taking into account everything?
Also would using 4 sticks rather than 2 make any differance at all?

The best board in that sort of price range is the Giga OC (currently on offer as well) I didn't mention it as it is black and orange.

2 sticks is usually better than 4 as its gentler on the memory controller, but this will be noticeable only if you are planning on going extreme cooling and overclocking.

What makes it better than the others btw? Is it just as it is more optimized for overclocking?

Think I'll stick with the 2 sticks for now, which will allow me to add another 2 if I ever need it.

It's one goal is overclocking, it has all the features you need to break CPU's at extreme frequencies and at extreme sub zero temps.

Apparently 8 Pack says the BIOS has been well designed to work with hardware (fine tuned for high end gear).

I do have one also, must admit, it's a monster board for the money, got my CPU superPI stable at 4.9Ghz on air, can get into windows at 5Ghz (all on air cooling), tunes RAM well..and I'm not even a pro overclocker.

Ah I see. Well I don't think I'm going to be extreme overclocking any time soon.

Which is better for mid range overclocking, say 4.5/6MHz. The Gigabyte UD4 or the Asus Hero board? Since both of these boards match my colour scheme and are pretty much similar prices

The UD4 will clock your CPU to that (assuming the CPU will go that far).

Alright, cheers! I'll get the UD4 then. I've seen reports of the 4770k getting upto 4.7GHz, so I'm assuming 4.5 will be achievable. If not anything over 4 will be good enough for me.

Good choice there, love the Gigabyte boards cause I've got one lol. Check out the Corsair Vengeance pro ram, it's great.

I would havE Gone the OC on this one mate. The UD4 is a good board though.

The OC has some great tweaking options and the obvious stability even when not extreme overclocking. If with 1.8 Vcore amd nearly 3v VCCIN I cant break it, then no one can!!!
