It's the complete opposite of my car but I do like that, it would be pretty cool driving around in one of them

How do you manage parking with driving a boat out of interest?

When you buy a car like my Olds, you learn pretty quickly how much room she needs when rumbling around trying to park. The Cruiser isn't actually all that bad, as the amount of steering lock available is excellent. Never tried parking a 442, but the suspension and steering are pretty much exactly like my Battlewagon despite there being 16 years between the two - Olds very much operating using the "If it ain't broke, don't try an' fix it" school of thought :)

Of course, the best thing about the Olds in those pictures is that she is a 442. And '442' stands for 'quick enough to bend time' :D

Well, almost. Actually (post '65) stands for 400 cubic inches, 4 barrel carb, 2 exhausts

Droool! Just goes to show it all went wrong before GM pulled the plug. The olds my brother now has as a runabout (about 10 years old I think) it utterly hideous!

Yep. Mine is 22 years old, and it couldn't be called 'pretty' using any definition of the term. Unless of course you can write to the dictionary people and get them to change 'pretty' to mean 'very boxy indeed'.

I'd still have rather that GM had pulled the plug on Buick rather than Oldsmobile though.

I thought the first four meant four-in-the-floor?

And wasnt it me that told you that? :)

It did pre-'65 :) For the '65 model year they brought the 400ci engine into the line-up and changed the designation.
