best phone camera ~£250? Huawei Nova 5T?

Wife wants a new camera that makes phone calls (!)

I see the Huawei Nova 5t looks pretty good, it's a refreshed mate 20 Pro, any other recommendations to help avoid "loss of play store anxiety"
 
I'm in the same boat, having gone around the houses I'll be keeping an eye on this.

£250-300 bracket is fitting at the moment, don't want to throw money away but if you destroy it, it's not the biggest loss!

Android One and my Xiaomi A2 but the camera seems way lacking compared to other people's photos I've seen of late.
 
Yeah she's got a mi A2 Lite at the mo, camera is passable but she takes all of the family pics
 
Pixel 3A is £279 at the moment. No wide angle but it’s still one of the best phone shooters and the low light mode is incredible.

Seen a few offers on these, it's the lack of storage and the fact the processors getting a bit long in the tooth now, question whether it'll be up to running Android 10 for any length of time?
 
I did think about the 3A, and I'd push the button, just unsure if newer devices have caught it up?
