So it's my lady friends birthday in May and I'm taking her to Gloucester for a weekend away/shopping trip type thing.

Can anyone recommend me some nice places to eat? Looking for somewhere fairly upmarket so price isn't really an issue.

Tah :)

I quite like Gloucester! Plus, we go to Cheltenham all the time :/

Cheltenham does have more shops though... hmmmm.

I suppose the Quays are ok. There are just some grotty bits of Gloucester – a real tale of two cities!

What you really want to do is hit some of the Cotswolds up. If you've got a few quid, I recommend here: thefeatherednestinn.co.uk It's near Stow on the Wold.

I suppose it depends what you want to do but there are loads of lovely places throughout the Cotswolds! I'm in Cirencester at the moment - it's quite pleasant here, but a little quiet.

The centre of Gloucester except for the area around the cathedral is fairly run down. There are some nice cafes but its not a place you go for fine dinning. I'd spend the day in Gloucester, go round the quays and the cathedral then head off towards Cheltenham or the Cotswolds for somewhere to stay and eat.
