Hey guys,

Just about to make an order:

1x E6300
1x Gigabyte DS3

… and 2 GB of reasonably good RAM :D

I will be overclocking.

I’m currently using Corsair with my Opty and it’s been faultless – plus it’s reassuring knowing it’s covered by a lifetime warranty :)

So, should I stick with Corsair (And if so, what should I go for) or are there better alternatives about.

What should I be looking at?

I’m trying to keep the RAM down to about £130 tops, if that’s possible ;)

Cheers,

SW.

I would have to say the Crucial Ballistix PC5300 2GB kit as it should clock well above PC6400 ram + Lifetime warranty & fast 48 hour RMA turnaround.

The Geil 6400C4 kit is on special offer this week back down at £99. It should reach 450 or so if you slacken the timings. Some have reached 500mhz even. I am still waiting to push mine, need a decent mobo and pci-e graphics first though.. money money money..

Wow - just seem the timings

They seem pretty good, are they really that achievable?

Still the RAM seems very good for £130.

And it's definitely not worth going for the PC 6400?

Cheers,

SW.

I mate

yes for that price they are great
Ballistix PC2 5300 /PC2 6400 / PC2 8000 share the same chips (Micron D9)
if money is no problem,go for PC2 6400 - if you have a budget ,with the PC2 5300 you get almost the same( anyway i never had the 6400 stuff)

and 600 mhz at 2.25Vdimm ,in my board , is SuperPi stable but is not Orthos stable

but yes it´s achievable,it depends on your board too

in XS foruns ,they have a DDR2 600mhz Club ,wich is interesting
