I'm thinking of purchasing a new card as it looks like my 4870 has a memory fault causing system crashes. It still works but at the random times it glitches it freezes up the whole system. It's got to the point where I had enough with it so I'm going to just get a new card.

I'm not really sure what card to get now as I've been of the loop for a while. I'd like it to have similar performance or better than the 4870. I'm not bothered whether it's an AMD/ATI or nVidia card although a ATI card will be easier to install being that the drivers are already there. I've noticed the 6000 series is released now but they might be too expensive.

My price range is around £100 but I'll spend a bit more if it's worth it. The most important thing though is that it needs to be around 26cm in length which I think is the size of the 4870 otherwise it might be to big for the case. It's OK if it takes up two slots though.

The 5770 fits nicely in your budget, and it performs very similiar to the 4870, only a little bit worse.

Personally I think you should try to strech your budget to a 460 to make it more worthwhile.
