hi currently running a hitachi 32 inch lcd and am looking for a bigger screen

37 to 40 inches

i sit about 6 foot away and these are the devices i want to connect

wii via component
xbox 360 via vga/component
ps3 via hdmi
sky plus via rgb scart (soon to be sky hd)
toshiba dr1 dvd recorder via scart
htpc can be connected via vga/dvi or hdmi
samsung hd850 upscaling dvd player via hdmi

any recommendations?

hi thanks for the quick reply , is that the one with the clouding issue and 24fps over blu ray problems?

if you do own one hows the pic and sound (very important no 5.1 set up)
on normal tv, is the picture really blocky?

At 6ft away the sd picture will not look good on any 40" lcd tv. Sound on Samsung Tv's is average at best which is why I have 5.1, but the picture quality is fantastic. I haven't heard of any clouding or 24fps issues myself, but all my content goes through my htpc so I wouldn't have any framerate problems anyway.

sound is a big thing for me havent got the room for a dedicated 5.1 set up so tv speakers need to be pokey enough :(

I have a pair of gigaworks T2.0 speakers hooked up to me samsung 32" via the headphone socket. Sounds miles better than the screen speakers, relatively cheap as well and doesn't take up much space

Currys are doing the Samsung LE40M87BDX for £740 instore. I got one the weekend. I was lucky that I looked around because I was gonna spend £980 from Comet

That's a cracking price. Any idea if that's a national thing? I've been planning on buying that screen for a few weeks and will certainly be popping into currys tomorrow to see if they have it at that price.

I think it is but he did mention that its such a good price because Empire had just opened a store by them and they were selling at stupidly low prices, but because Currys has a local price matching guarantee they had to sell it at that price
