Best SLi Motherboard?

You will be wanting a 680i board.

The Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680i and the EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 nForce 680i are considered to be two of the best.

I prefer the EVGA though. Ive had an MSI 680i (reference 680i) motherboard, Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi nForce 680i and the EVGA board and I think the EVGA board was the best.

All the 680i boards are roughly the same, based on the Nvidia reference design, but the Abit and Asus come with extras like WiFi and have different layout, different coolers etc and overclock a bit more than the reference boards, but I prefered the EVGA other the other two ive had.

My vote is for the Striker...I am new to overclocking so wanted a board that had a few failsafes....just in case!! The StrikerExtreme has just that, from the CMOS auto reset to heat resetting, expensive board but a great buy for me as a newbie!! I also wanted a board that I could really play with when I am ready to....so best of both worlds....and so far its living up to the price! :D:D

I guess the Striker Extreme has a couple of more features, but peel the sticker off an Asus P5N32E Sli and guess what it says... !

Hi there

Any tips for overclocking a quad core with a Striker?

It point blank refuses to post at 1333FSB, any special settings required, though I think I've tried pretty much everything?

has many people got goo clocks with either

Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680i

or

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 nForce 680i

using the SLACR stepping? Am after an SLI board at the mo but wanting good clocks with a quad cpu

Had similar issues with my P5N32-E - are you using the latest BIOS, I went back from 1205 to 1203 and the problem disappeared. Has the Striker had similar BIOS revisions?

Yeah spot on...Striker had revision 1303 then 1305...issues with 1305

What does it say if you peel the sticker off robPot?

I'm currently trying to decide on a 680 Sli mobo (Purely for gaming) the Asus P5N32-E Sli is one option because of the price or the XFX 680 board.

Also what is the difference between the P5N32-E Sli and the PLUS version?

Any help here?

It says StrikerExtreme!! It's near enough the same board, however its got different BIOS with quite a few options missing along with no system board lighting...oh and has not got the handy RESET, POWER & CMOS buttons on the mobo.

Got the bfg 680i, which is basically identical to the EVGA, my quad is 3.6ghz prime stable.
