I'm after a motherboard to Replace my Abit IP35 Pro.

Please spec me a decent upgrade that will work with my Core 2 Duo E8400 (clocked to 3.8ghz) and G.Skill PC8500 4GB ram.

Thanks

EDIT - I forgot to mention I have my eye on a second hand DFI LANPARTY DK P45-T2RS

It's a OK board. Your top card will run hotter as there is only a double slot between the two PCI-e 16x slots. My LT-X48 has triple slot spacing. Just bear in mind that it's DFI's budget board. Here's a review.

If you look around you can get a DFI UT P45-T2RS for £108 and that is a cracking board, also with triple slot spacing. You can get my board (in siggy) for only a quid more too!!

I'm not so sure now is the time to be lobbing £100 at a Socket LGA775 board

The money you could get from selling your Wolfdale E8400 would almost be enough to buy an AMD 785G DDR2 motherboard & processor! :p

Keep your eye out for an x38/x48/p45 either on the MM or auction sites. I picked up my current board for about £45 a few months back.

I've also seen an Asus rampage formula (x48) go for about £50 on the MM recently.

Please spec me something thats equal or better than my current setup!

I know nothing about the AM3 range of AMD chips.

I've got my sights set on an Asus Rampage Skt 775 board at the moment but they arn't cheap, even second hand!

So I'm constantly on the lookout in the MM :p

Hi Taken

I got a DFI Lanparty x48 for my 2 new 5770's the bios is a bit daunting compare to the gigabyte P35 i moved from but managed to get my Q6600 to 3.3ghz which is the same overclock I had on my old MB.

I've had a few hard lockups in Dirt 2 but apart from that its rock solid quite a step up in performance from my old 260. MW2, L4D2, RE5, Crysis Warhead have all shown large fps increase's more than I expected tbh. Very happy with the cards and the MB so far.

I have noticed 1 card goes into the high 70's during gameplay while the other one is in the 50's, I put this down to the airflow in my case and the fan can be increased if it causes issues.

I can post some benchmark scores etc later if you would like to have a butchers.
