The best sounding 4 cylinder is the crossplane R1 IMO, even better than the V4s (e.g. RSV4, VFRxxx, Desmodecici)
The older Ducati engines were the best sounding V-twins (Desmoquatro and Testatretta engines), with honours given the the SuperDuke being thrashed through the forest on MIVV cans.

However, one of the main reasons I bought my Benelli Tornado RS was the sound:

CBX is a straight 6 like the Z1300, but yea F1
