Hi all,
Currently have a Motorola Edge 40 Neo that has been brilliant but after a few drops the camera lens is broken as is the screen....

Thinking keeping with Motorola, maybe Edge 70 Fusion.

Are there any others worth considering?

Cool, cheers all.

I'll wait to see what's in the boxing day sales but currently an edge 60 neo has 5 years (until 06/2031) security updates and is £330.

Pixel 9a sounds great though and currently £350. .

I think the edge 60 neo just edges the fusion because of the 12gb v 8gb, marginally faster processor, longer support and the wireless charging. The slightly smaller screen would mean it fits in a pocket better too. Hmmmm decisions.

I'm in the same boat, Looking to move from a Moto G54 5G as the modem seems to be very iffy recently (Though I appreciate it is a 'budget' phone).

I had a Pixel 7a previously, and that had the same issue with poor network connection, as well as poor bettery life.

It's strange that recent smartphones that I've had have had awful modems, so that they don't really work as 'phones'.

I'm looking for a £300ish android phone which should have:
  • Excellent battery life
  • Decent modem/connection
  • Decent camera
I'll just be using it for phone calls, browsing, taking photos, and low powered games.

Any suggestions that I should look out for in the New Year sales?
I'm thinking, if going Motorola, a G86 power can had for £300. If buying from Motorola they all have a 10% discount too so would be less than £280.

The edge 60 neo would also be under £300 with discount.

Haven't purchased a new phone yet as Edge 40 neo is hanging on although the camera lens is broken and the front screen is now about 8 different pieces. Somehow still being held together....

Now looking at G86 for under £200.

Although I like the look of the Nothing 3a, and can get a pixel 9 for £350. That's still a lot of money IMO for a phone I could drop tomorrow.

I am a bit closer...

What are people's opinions on a used grade a (no marks /scratches) pixel 9a 256gb for £250?
Comes with 12 month warranty and case.

if you don't need 256gb storage, then you could've got a new pixel 10a for £260 a few days ago (now OOS unfortunately)

otherwise for 256gb storage nowadays...it ain't a bad deal
Cheers, I'm up to 120+GB on my edge 40 neo which has been a brilliant phone but is now falling apart. Camera lens broken, screen broken, trouble charging and it's nearing it's shelf life in service support I think.

On it now. It's been very easy to set up and fingers crossed all my contacts moved across. Like every phone, I'll keep old one just in case I need something I didn't know I was missing.
£250 for unscratched 256gb pixel 9a with screen protector, case and charging lead with 12 month warranty.
If it lasts a couple of years I'll be happy.
Few things to setup but looking good.

From where? I'm looking into a new phone and am considering a Nothing 4a for £355, a Oneplus Nord 5 at £365, a Pixel 10a (used from amazon) at 335 or a Poco X8 Pro Max at £359. Can't make my mind up at all. Read there's not much difference between a 9a and 10a, so could be tempted to save a hundred quid and consider a 9a.
2nd hand from local phone shop.

Got good reviews and phones a minter so we'll see. :)

I was considering 10a and Nothing 4a but I need 256gb ideally and this just happened to be in the shop when I was looking. Fate as it were. :)

Batteries decent, and bit quirky, issues with returning to previous pages, and camera doesn't seem great after having an edge 40 neo which was brilliant. But I think I need to set it up more.
Still learning.

Still got 28% after charging Monday night. Will last until tomorrow so that's 2 full days.

Edit - overall a very decent and comfortable phone. Transfer over was generally great, although lost all my music.
