Hi guys,

I have two questions, firstly, with the Thailand floods is it a bad time to buy an SSD at the moment? Is there a premium associated with the lack of HHD supply?

Secondly, what would be the best SSD in the 160-256 range? I currently had the crucial 256GB in mind, but £290 seems a lot of money to throw about, so I wasn't sure if there was a 160GB+ model (perhaps a different manufacturer) in the £150 to £200 range?

You don't really see 160gb SSD's (or I haven't).

They seem to be 120/240gig (sandforce) or 128/256gig (crucial/marvell).

The 256gig Crucial is expensive, but a good drive (I use one). Is 120/128gig too small for your purposes? You could add another SSD later for more progs/games at a later date.

As far as I've noticed SSD prices have stayed pretty stable, it seems to be mechanical bulk storage that is being affected by the flooding in Thailand.
