Hi guys, I have just bought a new HD (samsung f3 - 1TB) in preperation for the windows 7 install, which i will be installing windows 7 on.

But im currently using a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB which im planning on using as a 2nd hard drive for backups etc.

Whats the best way of formatting the seagate clean with no windows xp on there. In the good old dos days i would have typed format C: and it would have been wiped.

But since having XP if i wanted to format the drive i would have to put the XP disk in and do the installation and format it that way.

How do you guys format your hd's...

Thanks

Disconnect the seagate while you install onto the samsung.
Reconnect it and make sure the sammy is the boot drive.

Boot into windows

Start
Type "Computer management"
Click "Disk Management" under "Storage" on the right
Right click on the "available" space of the drive you want and click "format" then create a new simple volume.

Done :)
