ok so since i have left school, the amount of exercise i have done has decreased, and the amount of beer that has been consumed has increased.

basically i just want to lose the belly ;) (not beer belly, just belly belly)

anyway, i do eat pretty healthy, but whats the best way to lose it? i go for a run every now and again (as much as it pains me lol)

what else can i do inside the home (or around the home)

i dont really want to sign up to a gym, and im trying to save money every month, paying an extra £30+ out for a gym i wont use as much as i should is just wasting money.

thanks

you've opened a can of worms there mate , theres no way of losing weight in a particular area you have to just sort your diet out and burn more kcal's than you consume only way and i think stomach is last place to lose fat on.

Basically do the opposite to what made you fat :)

Cut down on the beer and exercise more ;)

lol i know that smart arse lol :p

i mean what kind of exercise? will running do it? or should i be working at doing more types of exercise.

looking at starting up play squash again soon :) loved that a while back

Drink less .. eat even more healthy than you do now, regular exercise ... running etc...

Cut down on the beer most importantly (i know its difficult ;)) go for gin and tonic or somthing instead

Instead of spending money on booze, spend it on the gym.............or if you're really trying to save an extra few quid, stop boozing and go running.

Try a month off the booze, do some exercise every other day (running, squash whatever) and see where that gets you. DO NOT be a girl and think "ooooh i've done 4 days exercise this week, aren't I a good boy, I deserve a pizza and kebab dinner with ice cream for afters" You are a man and as a man this kind of logic fails!

If you usually go the pub with your mates for a night out, still go but make it clear you're trying to lose the belly and you won't be drinking. Sure you'll get some stick at first but the conversation soon moves on. Offer the lads a lift (if you've got a car), make yourself useful ;)

Basically if you want to lose the belly you have the sacrifice something and with your desire to save some pennies knocking the booze on the head will benefit both your body and your wallet :D

in nottingham there is something they call the "flexible 10" which is basically a pay as you go membership to all the council owned and run gyms in the city. you have to go through their induction process (which varies from standing there and watching someone show you what to do or actually planning a whole program for you) but can go as often or as infrequent as you want - it costs around £4 per time, plus you can also go to any classes and stuff.

the gyms obviously vary in quality, but most of them are pretty good and fairly new. for example, the tennis centre in nottingham is part of the scheme (they have one of the pre-wimbledon tournaments there). i'd check the council website for something like that.

cos i like to go out and spend time with mates at the weekend, as i dont see anyoene really during the week.

plus is powerwalking likely to do much?

Run untill you get tired or cant breath, then you power wal your arse off untill you can breath again or your legs arent as jellified, then run again. Keep doing this till you cant do it anymore! and no it is ment to hurt!!!

then the next day dont do any exercise, but day after go running again!

Works for me :D

I'm no fitness expert, but for me squash is a great way to loose some weight. A squash league is good fun, and it's harder to not do it as others depend on your participation (it's great for letting out frustration and aggression too). Sorry to state the bleeding obvious, but what the hey, cut down on the beer :)

I don't even drink at the moment, and Iv'e been able to concentrate on eating well and spending money on better quality foods, and training harder. So inspite my calorie count going up, my body's more efficiently using them - so I gain muscle, lose fat, and therefore win in both cases.

If you want to drink stick to spirits without mixers (they contain sugar!) - or wine in small quantities.
