Dropbox is not the easiest, it is BY FAR much easier to first locate your friends (name & address), locate the file, burn the file onto CD or DVD using a program such as Nero or Deep Burner, then check for errors, then locate a padded envelope, go to the post office, and send 1st class special delivery.

He will have it next day gauranteed

Use 7zip, split it into chunks, email chunks, have him reasseble with 7zip at the other end.

I went with dropbox in the end. Did the trick. Only problem was that I had to download the programme and it adds stuff to your right-click menu.

You didn't have to download a client at all, and now that you have installed it you simply uninstall it.
