Best way to transfer money across?

I have to pay somebody over ebay, and I've just realised that my online banking services only allow me to transfer money between UK to UK accounts and not abroad.

Can anybody recommend me any money transfer services?

I suggest asking the seller what they would prefer

The guy doesn't mind paypal (which I don't have and can't (another story...)), or bank drafts/postal orders. But these will take longer than three days to get to him?

That's what I origionally wanted to do, but I've just discovered Barclays online don't do international bank transfers...grrr

Actually I'm sort of panicking right now, I think the best way is to walk down to a branch and clear my head....

Have you called Barclays telephone banking service? I'd imagine an international transfer is available that way.

You could ask for a SWIFT transfer as it will be the fastest way to get money transferred although there is a cost involved.

International cheques are a bad idea.
