betting william hill/ladbrooks etc

hi guys, what do i need to open an account? I plan to walk in to one tomorrow and open an account. It will probably be a william hill branch.

I assume I need ID... Bank account? OR just cash?

I'm 17 so obviously have never betted before, but I'm almost certain you don't an account if you just go down to the bookies to place a bet, probably need ID though.

Are you just looking to do a bet? If so, there's no need for an account, you just walk in, do your bet and pay your money.

I walk in, bet, give them £10.

If I win come back and get my winnings, if i loose they keep the £10?

I was like :confused:

when i first looked at the footy coupin,regularly put a tenner on a four way accumulator. Rarely win.

Aye, don't bet if you don't know what you're doing, you'll lose all your money. You'll still lose all your money even if you do know what you are doing.

If your unsure just go in and ask one of the staff,they will show you what you need to do to put the bet you want on.I work for one of those betting shops you mentioned lol.

For somewhere like Hills/Lads you can have an account, but it's not compulsory to bet.

Ladbrokes give you a card when you apply in-shop or online, you can use this to withdraw winnings or place bets. It's quite handy depositing online, getting your winnings in your account, going into the shop and withdrawing them, rather than wait 4 days for the bank to clear them, you can put them in yourself

Edit - btw, if you are going to use Ladbrokes, look out for any promo's they're doing this week for Royal Ascot. IIRC, place a £10 bet for a royal ascot race online and get 5 x £5 bets for free is their offer atm.
