Hi all i am considering building a new gaming pc with a few options as follows, i will also be doing a bit with photoshop elements and dvd ripping , which would be best all rounder as cf 6850`s kick the ass of the 560 gtx but i am concerned about drivers ect on cf .

i have not bought any of it yet just doing a dummy basket to get some ideas also will be looking for a 24" or 27 " tft for gaming . i had thought of sacrificing the gaming and just getting a xbox and a 27" i5 imac

any recomendations:p

option 1:
i5 2500k
1tb hd
gtx 570
8gb ram
64 gb ssd
p67 mobo

option 2: (forfeit ssd for i7 2600k)
i7 2600k
1tb hdd
cf 6850`s
p67 mobo
8gb ram

Option 1 by a mile! (You have put 570 in option 1, but mention the 560 in the description?)

570 defo, but interms of cpu, you might as well wait and see what BD does to pricing. Possibly a similarly price BD to the 2500k, may be better for multithread app.

Who knows.

Hopfully closer to Oct 12th we will know something..

Crossfire drivers are pretty good these days.

Running crossfire 6970's now and crossfire 5870's before these. Cant really moan, even if I wanted too. Gaming performance is mind blowing.

If you can wait for BD then wait - if you cannot I'd go for option 1 but would go with a Z68 board rather than P67.

(I'm not a great fan of xfire/sli - too much noise/heat BUT such do often produce excellent results)
