Hi dudes, recently I built a computer for a friend comprising of:

Antec 900
BFG 680i mobo
2x1GB Corsair Dominator
BFG 800GTX
QX 6700 (Tuniq Tower)
Corsair 620w

Now there were a few problems with the initial build as it wouldn't post but resetting the CMOS sorted this. Anyway, we were using his station to render some particle effects out in 3Ds Max and the computer just died! I then went to reset the computer but it wouldnt POST, all the relevant lights/fans etc all turn on, but no POST. After trying to turn it on numerous times it just wont boot, any ideas?

EDIT: I should also add I have tried reseating the RAM and booting with one stick, and have reset the CMOS, any other ideas??

Apparently there is a tilt sensor on either the mobo or the Case but I'm not sure which. The reason I'm asking this is because the computer if subjected to a knock would automatically reset or switch off. Also when I was building it I came across this same problem and figured that there was a tilt sensor! So 2 questions really:

1)Any idea what the problem could be?

2)Is there a tilt sensor (I'm pretty sure there is) if so what could it be on?

Thanks in advance

Kiz

not sure if its the PSU if the pc is actually turning on.

Take out gfx card, and ram......try and boot. any beeps ?

There is a panel on the motherboard which lights up and tells you of any errors, problem is this doesnt seem to work so I don't know what the problem is. I will try booting with seperate items to see if I can find a fault, might be the GFX card to be honest, as the Monitor wasn't turning on even after re-booting.

I have never known a case or a mobo having one. Perhaps a PSU, but i wouldnt have thought so.
Sounds like a dodgy connection somewhere along the line. Take all cards out and re-seat them.

I've actually had a PSU die on me before and the computer would still power on. It just wouldn't post. I put the PSU in another system and had the same problem. Replaced it and everything worked fine.

If you have the patience, I'd do a little testing. I'd try a different PSU just to see. If still no go, I'd take it all apart and then start with mobo, processor, gfx card and one stick of RAM (no HD) and see if it boots. If not, try another stick of RAM. If it's still not posting, it could be a bad mobo or even a fault somewhere. Before RMA'ing the board though, I'd try setting everything up outside of the case.
