BFG 8800 GTS 640MB EE

Hi

Noticed the: BFG 8800 GTS OC 640MB EE mentioned in another thread and was wondering if anyone knows if this is the bug standard card with just a firmware change to unlock another bank of Stream Processors? or is the GPU actually physically different?

Certainly be nice if owners of the standard card could pick up a flash to unlock these other SP's. Probably being optimistic here I know, but one can but hope.

Its exactly the same GTS we have now, just has extra shaders unlocked to give 112.

does that mean we able to flash a normal GTS to get extra shaders or is it hardware change?

Interesting. But how are they unlocked? Is it a firmware only change? ... or has something been changed on the chip (EG. I believe the X800 pro had them physically cut somehow)?

Don't have a clue, they may have unlocked em just to get rid of some old G80 GTS stock, as theres supposedly a G92 (65nm) GTS coming still.

The 112 SP 8800GTS doesnt look good compared to the 8800GT, if its going to be priced higher than it.
