BFG and the long RMA

Hi,

I bought a BFG 680i Sli motherboard from OcUK at the beginning of the month.
I read that BFG had one of the best return services so this was my main reason for picking this board manufacturer over the others on offer.

After finishing building my new rig and finalising an installation of Vista, the machine was just rebooting but locked at the bios screen. I left it for a few minutes but after realising it had hung I powered it off.

Upon powering the motherboard back on the P.O.S.T. LED's greeted me with '- -' after searching the net on how to solve this issue I discovered this meant a dead board (corrupted bios).

Great I thought, the board was dead on day one of receiving it. I contacted BFG as per the directions that came in the box.

This is where the real fun began.

To cut a long story short I have sent the board to them which they received on the 7th of June. It's now the 25th and i'm still waiting on a replacement.

I seem to get a lot of conflicting answers from BFG as to the progress of the board. Is it being replaced or repaired. Have they even looked at it. I don't know. I keep my emails to them professional and polite but i'm starting to get increasingly frustrated.

Has anyone else here had this happen to them. Was I better off sending it to OcUK in the first place or would it have been the same.

* Bump

Can anyone lend me some advice on their experiences with BFG/OcUK?

How long should the RMA process take on average?

Sounds like it is out of the hands of Oc mate & down to BFG. All my experiences with the Oc shop have been excellent otherwise i wouldn't support & promote them as i do.
What i would suggest is ringing Oc shop & chatting with them directly about it & see if they can get things moving for you.
We don't really post directly about shop matters on the boards and mainly advice on compatibilty & tweaking.
Phone them though, i always do as the wait on the phone is minimal & you get instant relevant answers.

You should have sent it straight back to OCUK, your contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer, especially as it was received faulty.

Thanks for the replies. I'll contact OcUK tommorow and ask for their advice.

Too late if you sent it to BFG. I doubt if there's anything OCUK can do. As already stated above, your contract for the first 12 months is with the retailer, not the manufacturer.

Hi Guys, thx for all the advice and responses.

Received my board yesterday (29/06/07).

Booted up first time no issues. Did a bios update to P28 as it was on P25.

(Came all the way from the states and they hadn't even shipped it with the latest bios!)

I got some issues but i'll post in a new thread as there unrelated to this one.
