BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV - SLI Question

Hi All

Just a quick question just seen this card on OC - Offer of the week - excellent price and I am very tempted to go and collect this from OC as I am driving past there on Friday.

The question is as follows

If I buy this card and I wanted to run in SLI in 6 to 9 months time then would I need another 8800 GTX running at 600MHZ or would it run in SLI if I bought the 575MHZ Version, problem is if I did want to run in SLI I am worried that in 6 or 9 months that thecore speed might change again and that 600MHZ cards might not be available as BFG are the only company running at this speed

EVGA 8800GTX is running at 630MHZ though the cost is £469.99

You would run into no problems due to the difference in speed as they are basically identical cards. The OC card would run at the default speed of the slower card, BUT you could EASILY overclock them both together no problem.

That price is very good indeed!!!! BARGAIN

ps I have my BFG running at

650mhz core
2000mhz mem

ROCK SOLID STABLE :D

however two beastly OC'd cards = lots more heat. So IMO for stability I would not clock them that high....unless you plan to water cool ;)

Thks for that - just so I am correct so If I add another 8800 GTX running at stock running in SLI then both would default to 575MHZ unless I OC them

Thks again
