BFG7800GS OC 256mb AGP - problems?

Hi Guys,

Just bought one of these from here - it arrives tomorrow I hope - to replace my BFG6800GS OC.

I am getting worried by threads on several forums about these cards being rubbish - black screens/pixelation/slow fps - has anyone here with one of these cards had any problems?

I'm hoping i'll be lucky & get a good 'un, but going by the posts at other places an RMA looks a prospect !!

i had one of these until a month or so ago. runs good, except it had a cold bug where if the card was below a certain temperature the card would be a slide show in all games.. was rather weird... but once you rebooted a few times it was okay.

ran oblivion on near max at around 20-25fps outside, without shadows (everything else on full @ 1280x1024) ran everything else fine on max. never got to try stalker, though

also clocked mine well, from 400mhz ->500 on core, cant remember memory but it was a decent clock, i think from 1200->1350 (could be totally wrong but thats what springs to mind..)

Same as previous post...cold bug problem at under 38c. Just use rivatuner to turn down the fan. Had the same problem with previous 6600GT card too.

You do realise you can get an AGP 7900GS Dual DVI now for £135 :S
