Big Fight: Mayweather v Marquez

Well yeah that is true, I would so try to get over to Las Vegas for that :D I would just need to convince my dad a 'father son' trip (paid for by him :D ) would be a good idea around the time. I still think Pacquiao would win though, Mayweather has equal speed but has never been known as a hard, damaging puncher, whereas Pacman...

However good Pacman is, it would be highly unfair to rate either fo them as favourites IMO. Pacman has amazing power for his size/speed, but can he get past the defense of Mayweather enough to make it count? Can Pacman cope with Mayweathers tactics of tiring him out be "taking the blows".

Pacman V Mayweather would be a fight which is impossible to predict, they are just so damn good! IMO it would be the present version of Muhammad Ali V Joe Frazier. Oh man, I'm nervous about a fight between them 2, before mayweather has even beaten Marques! :p

TBH I would rather see Mayweather fight Mosley then Pacquaio but that will never happen.

...for the Mayweather - Pacquaio fight to actually go ahead, wouldn't Pacquiao also have to beat Cotto? That's will be some feat.

I favour Pac pretty heavily. Speed will prevail.

Same, not just the speed but also his punching power.... anyone remember Cotto vs. Torres?

Also, about this Mayweather vs. Marquez fight - is English usually spoken in Marquez's corner? I can't remember. One of the things that really annoys me about Sky Sports boxing coverage for the lack of translators in the corners, which HBO etc always has.

Yeah, to be honest if Torres had a bit more stamina and if Cotto hadn't of landed so many shots to the body early on, I think Torres would have won that.

Just checked about Marquez, it's usually Spanish (Mexican, whatever), so I guess we won't know what they are talking about, which is annoying. I don't know why Sky Sports refuses to have translators, it can't add that much to the cost surely

I was gonna mention that.

Cotto was nearly done for in that fight. It surely was 50/50 at one point.

I'm sure Cotto is going to get picked apart by Pac.
Agreed.

For whatever offensive talent Cotto has, he doesn't seem able to go through a fight without being seriously rocked at some point. How Clottey allowed him to make it to the end of his last fight I'll never know.

The fight with Mayweather and Pacman won't happen. There's so many issues such as weight, money, etc.

If either of them want to be P4P best, they need to fight each other. IMO of course. (Not because I really want to see them two fight, honest :p)

Can anyone confirm if you have Sky Sports 1 is this free to watch or do you have to suscribe to the fight especially? I'm just a little confused (but glad) as to why this isn't on Box Office like usual?

Hope JMM wins but I'm leaning towards Mayweather 70/30 by UD.

Also did anyone catch the part where JMM was drinking his own urine?

Yes it's on SS1.

It's PPV in America, but when there's no UK based fighter involved it's pointless having it on box office over here.

Right, won't be looking at this thread again until tomorrow night after I've actually had a chance to watch the fight as there's no way I'm staying up for it.

Good luck Juan!
