Big sale on in Swindon this weekend

The sensible thing to do with sales like these is to go the day before to try everything on and see the stock before the sale when no one is there.

Then get there just as they open, grab what you want straight away and avoid the crowd.

TBH it was a let down. All the gear I tried on felt like entry level gear. All the jackets were half the weight and not as bulky as my Spada jacket and that's not in a good way. These were Richa and Furygan jackets and they just didnt feel right (£40 each). Same for the summer gloves as they felt like they were thinner leather compared to my Bering gloves, again Richa and Furygan (£30). Sadly no helmets at all, although advertised at starting at £10. Got a free bacon sarnie though!

Their site is so annoying, find something you like, 'call now for our best price' er how about no, I've wasted time visiting your website, I'm not wasting time ringing up too.

You could always pop along and waste your time too. That's what generally happens. You go into the showroom and the stuff on the website doesn't exist or it's in XXXXXXXXXL sizes.
I tried a few times and gave up, I think it's all just a bit of a scam to get people through the door, the deals don't really exist.

99% of the time that's exactly what it is. They take all their old stock which hasn't shifted in 18 months, write it off as a loss, and sell it at 90% discount. A bit of marketing and you have a store full of people on a Saturday rifling through discontinued / crap / size LOLXL gear looking fir a bargain and leaving either empty handed or with something at full price.

I never go to sales like this for that exact reason, it's such a sham.

Planning on heading there for a mooch tomorrow, hoping to maybe pick up a new textile jacket, as my old FT is looking a bit grubby these days.

Sadly this place often disappoints more than not, especially these events - most of the time me and the misses have gone there, the kit is either far too small/large, crappy quality, or hardly discounted. Having said that though, we did get quite a bargain with her first set of kit - everything bar a lid for less than £200; pretty good stuff too.

There's still a couple of guys there who used to work there when it was George White, I remember them telling us a year or so ago that they'd got a new backer in, who was planning on stocking lots of high end kit (Dainese and the like) - but I've not seen anything yet.

Still makes me sad that this place is no longer the hub it used to be :(
