Biggest waste of celluloid ever?

for me a bad film is not one that is just badly directed, or has poor acting.
Every film has a budget, and you make the best you can from what you have.

eg.
Hairspray - no budget, p.poor film
Blair Witch - no budget, but pretty effective.

To be a regarded as a truly bad film, you must have an insanely huge budget, and yet still produce a turd.

I give you:

The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge Of The Sith

Proof that a good story should never be handed to a childish cretin to produce.
Even the "game of the film" was better than the "film" - how bad is that !?

.

Any of these American teeny films that are about music/singing/dancing/college/cheerleading etc. etc.

Also any other type of 'chick flick' :/

Zardoz. Very weird sci-fi film starring Sean Connery.

lol ive seen that once and it is a very dodgy and bad film. Also the thread starters choice of zorro 2 comes to mind. Watched it last night and completely lost interest about 20 mins into the film.

Truly diabolical films are Trauma "classics". Really really really bad

Jay and Silent Bob's adventure (or whatever). Just really really really bad. Oh and Independence Day. That was so bad I thought my brain was going to be sick.

Not sure what constitutes a "bad" film to some of you, but many of the films mentioned here are well produced, well scripted and well acted even if they don't appeal to you.

I'd expect to see real clangers, films with horrific wooden acting, awful prodution values, proper straight-to-rental or made for TV nonsense.

Robin Hood, Men in Tights.

The only time I've wanted to leave the cinema before the end of a film.

I got dragged to 50 First Dates. That was shockingly bad. The wife and I left about halfway through. It was rubbish. Unforgivably bad.

Other rubbish films...

Equilibrium
Dude, where's my car?
The Scorpion King (WTF? It's Robin Hood in ancient Egypt)

I could probably think of more...

Also, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was great. The plot is only confused by the fact that a couple of the characters look similar (as all Chinese people do obviously - LOL JOKE). I also fail to understand why you would question how they do all that stuff... did you not pay attention to the dialogue? All the talk of Wudan? Hello?

I quite liked Equilibrium.

I think the worst movies I've watched through are Die Another Day (no wonder they went for a "reboot" of the series) and Red Planet. I think Red Planet was the first movie I've fell asleep watching.

omg at half of the replies, some of you have awful taste in films.

My top worst film of all time would be catwoman, no doubt about it.

Another one that always annoys me is Cayote Ugly, with two lead actors who cant act to save their lives.
