You're doing it wrong. :D

If a 75bhp, heavy old zr7 can wheelie in first then a street triple certainly can. You just need to be a bit more brutal with the throttle. Give it a big handful after backing off a little and it'll be round to 12 o'clock before you know it!

Maybe I'm just too heavy :D

I'll try tomorrow, ease off the throttle and then accelerate hard and see if I can lift the front up.

You won't be too heavy. Got to be brave and snap the throttle open. You're probably rolling it on just now. If that fails then learn to clutch up....or get a MT-09!

Whats the best gear to try?

I'm subscribed to a bird on YouTube who's swapped from a cbr600rr to an rc390 and thinks it's going to be as fast and pull better than her 600rr, the rc390 takes 6 seconds to do 0-60 compared to 2.5 seconds on a 600rr lol.

I feel bad she's trying to justify how much it'll keep up with her current bike.

I can get the front wheel of the SV up taking off the line a bit hamfistedly a striple should have no problem!

Can't do wheelies :( tried for ages!!
Come over, we'll teach you :p You have the perfect bike for wheelies :D
Yeah that's first on the list, looking at a delkevic high level can, £145 delivered. Don't want to spend too much.

2nd thing I want is a different screen, need to really see where the stock one is putting the air but a double bubble should raise it up a bit.
Delkevic are well made for the price, nothing fancy... but if you want presence on the road, than its the way to go. :D

Yeah, even full throttle in first doesn't get the front up :(
Don't believe that, my SV goes berserk in 1st.

Learn bunny hopping first, as in just get the wheel up and down in 1st. Than once you're getting some height, 2nd gear 25-30mph and clutch ups are your friend.

It lifts in 2nd gear without using the clutch, if you give it all its got. :D

You could weigh 20 stone and still pop a wheelie on a Street Triple. Just go back to basics and remember as a kid how you used to wheelie your pushbike and you'll realise it isn't about how to get the front wheel up but how to balance a bike on one wheel.

There are loads of different methods, but for beginning I'd go the clutch up route, it's what most wheelie schools teach.

Firstly you're most probably sitting too close to the tank, move your bum back towards the back of the front seat where it begins to go into the pillion seat, your legs will be less acute and you should find that your right foot is more comfortable covering the rear brake (important). Like so..

Then all you have to worry about it timing of throttle and clutch. Use your index and middle finger to operate clutch, not all your fingers like normal. Pull away in 1st gently, then accelerate at half throttle and as soon as you've applied throttle, flick the clutch in and out which should momentarily allow the revs to jump up and the first time it'll do just that, rev up, as you get used to it and start to understand what the bike/engine/clutch is doing you'll start to bring the front up, just take small steps.

Classic example of what a wheelie school teaches..

Just remember to cover that rear brake.

Slightly different training method, but it's all on the Street Triple :)

Thanks for the tips. :) I took my camera with me but didn't check until I went to record, only had 19 minutes left so that was annoying!

Had another good ride, done a 150 miles round trip, headed back as the weather changed quickly.

First gear. If you go to second, you'll have to start thinking about the clutch or leaning well back. And I'm 14 stone btw, so you're not too heavy!

Assume we're talking about Red Renna? Honestly, the way she rides on the road, she probably will find the KTM as fast. Kind of get the impression with her though that she's just doing as she's told, or trying to be more like her BF - move to Germany, get a bike more like his as long as it's a smaller engine etc

Is it common to get double mileage from a front tyre compared to the rear? my rear diablo rosso will need replacing soon but the front doesn't look to bad, so I was thinking of just getting a rear.

Yeah that's normal unless you brake hard into corners. On my old cb400 I got 8k out the year and 15k out the front.

I'm 17stone and can wheelie the street triple in first no problem.

Get to about 6k rpm, let the throttle off and straight away fist full, keep rear brake covered and your done. I've done a few over last few weeks, don't rate it great on your chain though.

I've never attempted one always have the fear of getting it wrong and having to buy replacement bits so probably best I don't give it a go :p
