a set of ratchet spanners on their own are £40.

Definitely get a set of Ratchet spanners as you just can't beat them for spinning off/on nuts in tight spaces. Once you use one you will wonder how you lived without them. :p

I need to post a pic of my Allen key set as well as those loose ones are a pain in the ****. The set I got has handles are double ended & come in a little rack.

Being as old as I am I've built up a superb collection of tools & Yes I will admit in Public that I Love my Tools. :D

Quick search in teh Forest & my set are like these but not made out of monkey metal.

So after failing for the second time... I had a really bad day. I went to speak to the guy I have put the deposit down on my SV 650. He said that experience is key. That spured me on to ask if they had any 125 machines around - of which a silver YBR was there waiting.

I managed to get it for £1200 from £1400 with 7k miles and 2010 plate, and I can bring it back once I have passed my test and get £1100 so technically it is £100 rent until I pass my test, which is looking to be in April time now.

I think this is the way to go, as I will get more comfortable and confident for my next test. Still a little miffed though, nerves always get the better of me!

At least I can ride though! Well excited to be out later today!!

I think it's a good decision to get a 125 & get some real life road experience & that Deal they've done you is well decent of them.
I run my 125's around for quite some time & really wouldn't have liked to be chucked in teh compound or do the ride out without that experience, The tests are so short it would be over before you felt comfortable on the bike/road.

I can do my license and ride the damn thing on public roads. I'm not fussed, as I'm slowly changing bits on it and doing it the way I Want it.

Man what a Throb. :p

No way could I do that as I have No self control. :o

I've been a naught boy couple times, but I try to control myself. :p I don't really want to get a ban just before my Mod1&Mod2...

Edit: Not sure which Renthals to pick, any ideas? :p I want wider bars, as the current ones are quite short. But I'm concerned about the length of the cables being long enough.

Ah unlucky mate. What is it your failing on? As someone else said that garage seems like a bunch of good eggs for setting that deal up with you.

But on the bright side you have a set of two wheels to ride around to build up that confidence.

For what it's worth, I passed my driving test the third time and that's when all the best drivers pass so it might be the same for bikes :)

Glorious weather down in Bristol today but I'm not allowed out. Staring out the window looking at the clear blue skies like a housebound cat

Went out today to test the recorder under the seat, it's not as muffled but picks up a lot of gearbox whine, gear change clunks etc and doesn't pickup the pops on the overrun as well, so deffo in a rucksack is best. I've got another rucksack I can try as obviously the kriega materiel is a little too thick and is muffling the sound.

It looked warm out there but it's cold, brrr!!

Went for a long ride today - just around the Birmingham area, making use of the mostly empty Sunday roads ;).

I've only ever ridden in cold and mostly wet weather, so actually getting out in the sun is an amazing experience :D

I did experience one smidsy, but having driven around Brum for over 10 years, you expect such behaviour.

I can't wait to get a bigger bike. Even on a 125 I can beat anything off the lights - with a lot of thrashing :D, it will be a lot easier on something with more power.

Ahah, it is the same bit. I can't really go over the flyover on L's as it leads onto the M6. peoples lane discipline around there is awful, I've had loads of near misses in the car there too as people just merge without even indicating.

Prior to that clip I did have a brown trouser moment. There are tunnels with big sweeping curves, so you can throttle it a bit and lean in. I was mid-curve, leaning over, and saw a plastic bag blowing about on the road right in my path - this is the first situation I've been in where I wasn't sure how to react! I sort of throttled off and managed to avoid it.
