Bikers What Cam Do You Use?

I still haven't got round to mounting it yet,I need to order some sugru

You can tell it's cheap though, and the battery life isn't that great, some folks put an sj4000 battery in which lasts longer

If I was buying again I'd buy the xiaomi yi,soon as I get it mounted I'll put up some footage

Xiaomi Yi with 35mbps firmware and couple scripts is a 'gopro killer'. :D

If anyone wants some RAW footage, I can post it on here. :)

can you provide more info and links please mate?

thanks for the info mate, looks good.

I use mine every day for commuting and it's never crashed/stopped recording etc. or corrupted files.

It would be perfect as a 2nd camera if you had something else to record audio with, plus it can record whilst being charged/powered (even without a battery in) so perfect for mounting on the bike with power and just set to record. I get roughly about 7 hours of 1080p 60fps high setting video on a 64gb SD card.

Tempted to use one as a dashcam in the car also, saw one of the scrips is an auto record on power.

My GoPro is rubbish at audio too so it cant be any worse :D

It does, but that's nothing that 20 minutes with a dremel wouldn't fix. The micro usb power is at the rear so you'd just need a hole in the door.

On the Yi it splits the video into 1.85gb files which are normally 11 minutes 30 long.

I currently have 230 minutes on my 64gb (59.5gb) card and that's used 37gb, so 22.5gb left.

I think that's roughly 350 minutes for a 64gb card, just under 6 hours. That's on the 'high' quality setting and 60fps.
