No it's not Samuel L Jackson latest acting atrocity, I just wondered if it's possible to take a bike on a plane? Mulling over a little post exam summer trip from Marseille to Monaco for a week or so of camping, cycling, and drinking! :)

Yes you can with some carriers, though I think that you need to box it up. Hey, here's an idea, how about checking the website of the carrier as each one will have a different policy after all.

You must pack it well!

If you can throw the packed bike down the stairs and not damage it, then it will be safe to put it on the plane.

Sweet, that's great news, thanks for the info!

Easyjet is £15 each way pre booked and £20 each way on the day

has to be under 32kg though ( total inc any other checked luggage ) , higher charges if heavier

Ah, so you have to book the item of sporting equipment in as an additional thing? That's cool, thought they'd be being a little too generous.

First i was going to aks this push bike or motor bike?

I always put my bike and wheels in a bike bag then in a bike box and pad it all out.

Only ever lost one bike and they paid up pretty quick. If you ask when you book can get it free or cheap. Most i paid was £40 to Oz
