Aren't you supposed to request asylum at the first country you can set your feet on - after you leave the place you are fleeing from. In which case, you don't get to pick and choose where you want to get asylum.

Given that she will leave (or has left?) Pakistan for S.Arabia then there can't be a way for her to request asylum in Brittain.

Regardless, she was cooperating with a wanted criminal. She can't claim ignorance so she is an accomplice. If she was afraid for her life etc. then she could have asked for asylum during the time, not after.

All in all a non-story.

If that worked then the only Asylum seekers in Britain would be from Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Spain and Iceland ....

And that definitely isnt the case.

That should be the case. I don't know why asylum seekers always end up here when we are just a tiny, overcrowded island as it is.

IMO we need to really crack down on it and get rid of this 'soft touch' reputation we have.

Because for the simple fact that if you are a genuine asylum seeker, you should claim asylum in the first safe country you come to. Flying half way round the world to England is not that country is it?
