BIOS POST : No Any Drive Found

I'm at my wits end, I can't get anywhere with my new kit:

Kit is a Shuttle SG45H7 w Quad 283 & 4GB 8000 mhz DDR2

fails to enter bios.
fails to boot.

JMicron (SATAII controler) returns

"Detect drives done, no any drive found."

then it hangs...


I have tried:

Reseating RAM
Clearing the CMOS
booting with no drives
booting with IDE CD-RW/DVD in master, slave & cable select
booting with SATAII in mobo ports SATA1, 2 & 3
booting with SATAII & IDE CD-RW/DVD


When attaching the IDE drive JMicron (SATAII controler) returns the IDE drive name in green.

"press any key to contiue"

then it hangs...




Anyone got any ideas?

If you've got 4 sticks of ram, have you tried booting with just 2 sticks?

actually i only have two sticks. bios seems to say thier in dual channel.

turns out the shuttle ships with the standard bios which has a bug!

the system will not run with 4gb memory until the bios is flashed.
