BIOS update issues on Gigabyte P35 DQ6

I’m trying to update the BIOS on a Gigabyte P35 DQ6. The board came with the F4 BIOS so I flashed it to the latest version (F6) which seemed to be successful but if I change anything in the BIOS the PC goes into a continuous loop of restarting every time it reaches the POST and I don’t even get to see anything on screen. The only way to stop it is by physically resetting the CMOS using the jumpers.

By changing anything I mean even a small change such as setting the boot priority. In fact, if I go into the BIOS and just select save settings without changing anything it goes into a restart loop.

I then went back to the old BIOS (F4) and everything works as normal, so I tried the F5 BIOS thinking perhaps it might work better if I install the versions in order but still no luck. I even tried the F7b beta BIOS with no luck. The only BIOS that works is F4.

I updated my DQ6 bios about a fortnight ago. Just in case, my file is called P35DQ6.F6 and is exactly 1.00Mb in size. I uploaded mine using a USB drive. There is a beta bios available currently called F7b.

Have you tried flashing to the latest BIOS and then totally removing power from your machine before rebooting?
I mean totally unplugging the power cable out of your PSU for a few seconds before replacing it and powering back up?
This is how I got around the problem you are describing I had on my Gigabyte 965 based motherboard.
I will admit I've not had the same issue with my P35-DQ6 and I'm running BIOS F6
