Bioshock compared to today's games?

+1 at any decent resolution.
Gotta agree. Even if you managed to get it running smoothly, moment any sort of explosion happened your framerate would probably plummet.
I have a friend who still on 8800 GTS 320MB version and he players a lot of games fine.
Obviously he turns settings down in some games, and his resolution is only 1680x105, but saying these cards are useless is just nonsense.
BF3 is obviously a LOT more demanding than Bioshock. A little bit of googling found this:

The settings they went for was minimum FPS at least 30, and average somehwere in 40-60. So if you are willing to accept less than 30fps minimum, you could up the settings somewhat, but it's not going to be as pretty as a more powerful card could provide.

Personally I would get a 6950/70 (depending on the age e.g. from a flashing point of view) over a 570.
