BioWare: We Want Call Of Duty's Audience

Is the demo coming out before the release?

I doubt that.

I want more real RPGs like Magicka, not this FPS infused into what should be an RPG bullcrap!

Its not? I just heard the demo was out around 23rd wasn't it? No release date on steam so i dunno.

I'll wait and see. I put off buying ME2 for ages on the basis that it was dumbed down, the RPG elements had been removed etc etc. Turned out to be my game of the year.

My problem is that Bioware are morphing the first tactical Baulders Gate style RPG to come along in AGGGGGGGGGGGES into some button mashing action adventure game with RPG elements of which there are ten a penny.

I'll probably end up getting DA2 and I'll probably like it, but I don't anticipate it being the same style/genre of game as the first one.

I'm currently replaying Dragon Age and it does lack a lot of polish and atmosphere that we've all come to expect nowadays. It's sad they have to go down a Mass Effect (and console pleasing) route to improve the experience, rather than address the originals faults.

I've not preordered.

Mass Effect 2 was great, Dragon age was great, if they put a greater emphasis on combat and action etc I'm fine with that, bring on DA2

i personally thought what they did with Me2 was rubbish, they turned a great RPG into a boring standard third person shooter (IMO), looks like they are doing a similar thing with dragon age.

me2 huge improvement on me1 and i loved me1! DA:O is a great rpg, if u dont like it then obviously your not a fan of the rpg genre or just a final fantasy fanboy. DA:O2 i can see being a great game, i hate all cods apart from cod3 which was actually about having fun and not about p*****g eash other off. Matchmaking doesnt work end of. This game will be awesome just like me2 was. personaly im looking more foward to skyrim.

I've still got to finish DA:O. But I just didn't find it all that great. Even though I knew what type of RPG it was, deep down I wished I was playing Oblivion instead. Plus I couldn't give much of a stuff about the characters.

I was skeptical of Mass effect 2 at first as well, the removal of a lot of skills and customization didn't impress me at first but it's honestly on of the best modern games I've ever played. Hopefully DA 2 will surprise me in the same way

The problem with Dragon Age: Origins [for me], is that it wasn't really anything new except the storyline and it was basically a copy [mechanics wise] of KotOR with added gore.

I expected them to try something different like they did with Mass Effect for DA:O.

same here got about 20hrs in and got bored, so never played it again..saying that i do that with most games :)

It sounds like they're trying to feed kids vegetables the way they're describing it. "How can we give kids some rpg, but pretend like its not?" I don't see the point myself. Only muppets associated Fallout 3 and CoD, one's true twitch fps, one is not.
