After moving home 7-8 months ago, I have been on the lookout for a new birding spot. A few weeks ago I finally found somewhere suitable. Rowlands Gill and Clara Vale over beyond Gateshead both have great hides and are nice and easy to get to. Here are some of the first shots;

Superb pics, am looking to buy a bridge camera soon something along the lines of a Fuji S2000HD so i can take better pictures.

What level of zoom / distance were you using to achieve these shots.?

Well they were taken with my 300mm f2.8 with a 1.4X converter, which is equivalent to about 8.5X magnification, but then take into account crop factor and it becomes 12.75X magnification (i think) at about 12ft range.
