Birmingham town center what a crap hole.

stoke-on-trent, i'd have thought that was obvious.

How is it obvious? Stoke-on-Trent is a City that comprises six towns, Stoke, Hanley, Fenton, Longton, Burslem and Tunstall. So if somebody is going to try and insult the place, no doubt for internet cool points, then you'd have thought they'd at least put some research in as to not come across as a complete feckless ****!

don't be obtuse, his sentence wasn't difficult to decipher. hometown generally means home city

Perhaps you should have another look at the difference between a "City" and a "Town"!

i've spent 9 years in Birmingham, and lived most of that time in Moseley, nice area, goiod vibe, yes there are some rough areas as in all cities, but there are the lovely ones too.

Agree, Moseley is a lovely place. You've also got Sollihull, Sutton and Lichfield which are also nice (and pricey). We lived in Sutton when we first moved back to Brum (both went to uni there then moved to Nottingham for a year whilst my wife did her PGCE) and it's very nice, especially as we lived about 100 metres away from the Banners Gate entrance to Sutton Park.

I love birmingham city centre, great architecture, fantastic shopping, museums, art galleries, cultural diversity.
I'm sorry, but if you are from stoke-on-trent i fail to see how you could find anywhere more awful than your hometown.
(saying that, i haven't visited everywhere, but of the places i have - i am fairly sure none were worse than stoke)

Stoke's no worse than Birmingham and has the good sense to be small enough to leave quickly :)

My problem with big cities isn't the city centre, they are what they are, it's the urban sprawl in every direction :(

Probably a "special" house.

Correct. Solihull is in Birmingham, I live in the town centre and my post code is B91. Only the posh up thier own arse folk (which is a large percentage of Solihull) that deny its part of Birmingham.

... Birmingham City Council does not include Solihull, therfore I would say even though it has a Bxx postcode that it is not Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield on the other hand has a Bxx postcode and is look after by BCC... make your own judgement.

It must be true that having Bxx as a postcode in itself doesn't mean it's in Birmingham. I know in Essex for example, Sudbury in Suffolk has a CO postcode (Colchester) as does Clacton - and neither of them are anything to do with Colchester.

Do you honestly believe everything you read on the internet, or not understand irony... on a joke forum I post in a joking way. This is a serious forum so what I post here is serious. I bet even you can understand that :)

Oh i understand irony, for instance i find it ironic you are being condescending to me. See, it's simple isn't it?!

Let's just say that the posts i had seen did seem to have a shred of irony in them.

Would have probably been better for you to have just ignored Wicksta's post altogether than try and pass it off as "joking around" on the internet :p I mean seriously.... lol

Solihull is in Birmingham no matter what people who live there think.

Actually it isn't.

It is historically part of Warwickshire but got moved to the West Midlands years ago to the disgust of some silhillians. Politcally it is nothing to do with Birmingham. Physically the borough bumps up against the city of Birmingham. It is by no means IN Birmingham in the same way Wales and Scotland are not IN England.

Whats that got to do with the price of bread? He may drive drunk and eat McDonalds. Does that mean he's not entitled to an opinion?

He's entitled to his opinion. It's just if it carry's any weight is what i'm arguing about.

The trouble with this country is that people are too afraid of speaking their minds for fear of being branded a racist or a terrorist.

I agree totally, but don't think of DD as too much of a "hero of the working class" just because he has some outlandish views which go against the mainstream...

I've been to Birmingham a number of times and didn't have a problem with being surrounded by mainly Asian faces. But anyone who pulls stats out of their rear claiming that non whites are less than 50% of the population are wrong. Deliberately massaged stats given by the government are designed not to provoke fear in the populace.

So....the government are lying about the numbers of non whites in Birmingham to stop people from being fearful...

Where is my hat....i had it the other day....damn, i can't find it anywhere.....and it was made from the most high quality tin-foil ASDA sell!

Ask yourself this, where are all the white people when you go to Birmingham if they are the majority? In hiding? Watch a tv news report when they film at a school. How many white kids are there?

Is your evidence for your "government manipulating numbers to stop fear" argument.....because *you* don't happen to see many white people in Birmingham? I'm assuming you've got solid data to back this up...?

Woah.

Wrong. Utterly wrong. Solihull is an independent political entity nothing to with Birmingham. Post codes prove nothing. It is part of the West Midlands urban sprawl that makes up the West Midlands including Birmingham though.

It really was all a joke then, dirtydog?

So it was just a coincidence that you asked about breathalisers, bragged 'jokingly' about drink driving and were then caught doing exactly that and admitted here that you were well over the limit? I'm not seeing the irony dirtydog, I'm seeing karma though. :D
I'm guessing half the problem with alcoholism is that you forget what you post where and it's easy to blame 'others' for your own failures.

Like I said I'm glad *you* don't live next door to me, I don't need to put you into a certain racial/ethnic group to realise that.

You posted it all here in this serious forum, not on a 'joke forum'

I got done for drink driving, that wasn't a joke - but much of what I've said about it elsewhere was a wind-up, the only disturbing thing is that people didn't realise this.
