As the title suggests i took the battery out to refill the dionised water and trickle charge it only to find that the crappy factory fitted radio now requires a code to get me back up and running. There is nothing in the ownership manual about the radio, literally nothing just one reference to where a radio can be put(damn those french! :P)

So im wondering what to do? Will i have to pay someone to figure out the code for me or would it be cheaper easier to just bung a cheap head unit in there?

As again its a R reg Renault Clio RT 1.4 registered 97, will i need to post the details of the radio, ie model make serial No.?

Had a look on google but couldn't find anything specific on my car!

Help would be much appreciated as driving round in complete silence is only making me sing silly songs and the road noise is doing my nut in

I replaced the battery on Mums old Clio MK1 (N reg 1.4 RT), and went to look for the code in the Manual. Bloody empty space where it should have been (and she was the original owner!). She rung the stealership she bought it from and they told her where it would be. It was one of the other things in the Renault folder -think it was the service book?

Had this same issue with a Seat Leon i bought for my brother. Ended up getting it from Seat UK themselves, the dealers were useless.

Its likely you'll have to ask your dealership for it, a 30 second job on the computer for which they'll charge you £30+
If you ask on a renault forum such as cliosport someone will prob look it up/generate it for you
