Blackberrys.................

No, not really. I do however have some nice blueberrys, I'm going to enjoy them with some vanilla ice-cream later.

Not sure you can get blackberrys on PAYG, as it costs most networks at least £5 for the blackberry internet and email services.

I think you can, the Curve is £150 IIRC. But if you are on PAYG, be sure to have free internet for £10 p/m things, as there's not really much point to having a blackberry if you're not using the internet and email services.

Theres a few models out but most of them wont be available on PAYG such as the 9700 Bold2, 9000 BOLD, Storm 1 and Storm2, 8900 Curve, 8520 Curve and also the pearls if you can find them. I know that tmobile at one point were offering the pearl on a PAYG tariff ie you paid £150 upfront for the phone and one yrs line rental or something similar.

Have a look around at the networks and see what they can do for u regarding a BB.

Best BB's right now are the Bold lineup ie 9700 and 9000 but good luck on trying to get those at a cheap price...the curve range 8900 and 8520 are good entry level BB's then theres the vodafone exclusives the Storm 1 and Storm 2...id stay away from the Storm1 as its not really that good...the S2 is much better i find.

I have the 9700, 9000 and Storm2...all great phones but cost me a pretty penny to say the least....your better off going with a contract honestly if you want the higher end BB's....u will get a much better deal via the networks that way. Other than that you can buy one offline and stick a payg sim in it but it wont work unless you add a BIS plan which will cost you £5 extra.

between 9700 and 8900 which one is the better choice ? given they are priced very similar

Id say the 9700...the 8900 is a fair bit cheaper here mainly due to the fact that it doesnt have 3G and still uses the old trackball whereas the 9700 has 3G and the new trackpad which is much much better than the trackball, the trackballs are prone to breaking down ie getting stuck because of dust etc getting into the mechanism.

Also the 9700 is faster device all round...uses the fastest cpu out of all the BB's...its the same one that was used in the 9000 Bold.

The 8900 is a nice device but compared to the 9700, the 9700 is a better option if you can afford to plump for one otherwise the 8900 is not a bad device on its own.

For Pay As You Go I would recommend the 8520 Curve.

I currently use the Bold 9000, It's the best BB I have used to date. My fellows at work tell me that the 9700 is even better. (hopefully the nice cute girl in the IT dept. will have a 9700 for me tomorrow).

I don't think the the 9000/9700 are available on PAYG & are very expensive off-line

The 8520 is a nice handset, IMO the 8900 is a slightly better phone, but it's getting on a bit.

Don't know why you would bother with a Blackberry they look pants ;)

Spawn do you work for BlackBerry?

You after a job there?

No i dont work for Blackberry...my knowledge comes from people that i know within RIM aka Blackberry over in America and Canada...my bro out in Canada works very closely with RIM so i get my info and knowledge from him first hand..

I like my 9000 but they are painful on battery life. Talk on the phone for most of the day and it's gone.

Yes it is tough on the battery...plus the memory isnt so great on it but you should if you havent, put a new updated OS on it...the new OS5 has just been made official...although i havent put it on mine as mine is now retired..been replaced with the 9700 and Storm2 which are totally awesome device.

Just head over to the link in my sig for the biggest and best place for BB's
