Blackburn Confirm Allardyce Departure

Allardyce wanted Robbie Keane, but was offered Kris Boyd and Geovanni. No wonder he resisted transfer strategy plans. #brfc

#brfc players furious at Allardyce sacking. Senior pros believe club is being run into ground by naïve owners.

Kentaro, advising #brfc owners, have strong ties in Argentina. Maradona link could be publicity stunt, but not as mad as it sounds.

Looks like this could get ugly for Blackburn.

Absolutely ******* ridiculous

Agreed. Coming from a long term Rovers fan this is a seriously concerning time, especially when you consider the rumours this morning that John Williams has walked off the back of it.

We've lost not only a comptent Premiership manager (albeit not the most entertaining) and also, arguably one of the best chairmans in the league.

You also have to consider that now, we have a potential yes man in place to accept whatever players Kentaro want to throw our way in the January transfer window. (Boyd and Geovanni....luls)

Concerning, very concerning times.

Speaking exclusively to the Lancashire Telegraph, Venky’s chairman Anuradha Desai reiterated her view that the team needed to entertain.

Allardyce was dismissed yesterday afternoon in a move that stunned players and fans alike.

Mrs Desai said last night: “We want good football and Blackburn to be fourth or fifth in the league or even better.

“The fans should trust us because this is in the best interests of the club.”

The new owners face a battle to convince supporters. More than 3000 fans have so far voted in the poll on the Lancashire Telegraph website and around three-quarters say Venky’s had made the wrong decision.

Mrs Desai warned fans not to expect a quick appointment, saying her family wanted to take their time.

She said they were happy to leave the team in the hands of coach Steve Kean for ‘a couple of months’.
Ahahahaha.

Clearly trying to steal Newcastle's crown of "who can make the biggest shambles of running a Premier League club".

Managers who have been sacked this season:

Chris Hughton (newly promoted Newcastle earning decent wins over Sunderland and Arsenal and holding around midtable)
Sam Allardyce (keeping Blackburn midtable despite a lack of talent/class/money/anything)

Managers still in a job this christmas:

Gerard Houllier (Champions League challengers Aston Villa - 4 points off the relegation spots)
Avram Grant (woeful West Hame side rooted to the bottom)

Go figure.

How can you not include Roy in this assessment :( Shocking.

Anyway.

Blackburn say "it could be a couple of months" before they appoint a manager to replace Sam Allardyce.
Are these two muppets mad.. you can't run a football club like that !! Suicide!

Why didn't they sit this season out and wait for the close season before making changes? Bloody oversees investors messing around with English Football like a game of CM2010 will kill the EPL as we know it.

Confirmed that John Williams is staying at the club. I feel a lot more optimistic knowing that he's not going anywhere.

As for most of the above in this thread, pure speculation at the minute. Ridiculous decision but if Steve Kean is really as good as he's being made out to be we could be on to something decent, hopefully enough to keep us in the Prem.

Enough better managers out of work at the moment, may as well ditch him and get a new guy in for the transfer window if they've got cash to splash.
Or alternatively, they could just leave it to the first-team coach they gave "temporary" charge to on the weekend:

"Venkys London Limited - Blackburn Rovers - has decided to continue with Mr Steve Kean as manager until the end of the season," said a club statement.

Oh dear.

How much did Liverpool or Spurs spend to get a top 5 finish, these Indians need to **** off back to Indian sharpish

Ah yes, the typical well put together rant from a moron wanting somebody to go back to their own country.

Let's see how things pan out first before deciding whether it's an Abrahamovic take over or a Hicks & Gillett effort.

I hope they go down and the FA consider who buys English football teams, I really do.

Its not a business that makes something, its part of a town, history, culture, small towns need these teams, one day we will just have 6 big teams.

Slight load of balls really, no we won't up with 6 teams don't be retarded.

Football clubs are businesses and as such, can be taken over by whoever fancies waving a cheque. Do you have any problems with Dave Whelan taking you all the way to the EPL in 10 years? A rich sugar daddy is a rich sugar daddy.

But he was an ex footballer, dealt with football goods day in day out so why would we be worried about him taking over a FOOTBALL team.

Indian Chicken firm, lol at that.

Does seem a bit bizarre to get rid of him only to put Kean in charge for the next 6 months. Would have been cheaper/better/easier to just leave Allardyce in place until the summer I would have thought.

Big Sam must be laughing all the way to the bank, nice juicy payoff no doubt and surely only a matter of days before Inter Milan come knocking on his door...
